Police Commissioner Allen Temple announced that Denver Police had taken Tomas Aleciades into custody for the recent murder of Denver native Melissa Juran, wife of Mathew Juran. Mrs. Juran was found brutally murdered and buried in a garden plot behind her house last Tuesday, April 4. Mr. Aleciades, who had been wanted for questioning in the murder, turned himself in to the police in the presence of his lawyer, Jerome Baker. Although Mr. Aleciades declined to make a comment, his attorney stated, “My client is innocent of this horrendous crime. In order to prove his innocence, we have engaged the services of Mark MacFarland, who will do what Denver’s police department has failed to do–find the true killer and bring the man to justice.”

Mark MacFarland, who ordinarily operates a hot dog stand at Fourteenth and Elati, was unavailable for comment.
